Conquer or be Conquered

Do you feel sometimes that people want us to participate in their lives when they themselves are not sure what path they tread on? They want to discover their own path by pulling us into it. What happens when that takes place? I feel that we loose ourselves in their world. Our world comes to a halt. When two people or more are together, this takes place. One conquers and the other conquered. I find that most people want to invade the other. I don’t mind if it is a safe invasion, but most times I find it an intrusion.

Do you notice that in almost all types of relationships there is always the conqueror and the conquered? When we meet a new person, and they attract us, don't we strive to get to know them, to know everything there is to know until there is nothing left? And don't they do the same thing too. Eventually after that the attention on that person dissipates and we move on. I believe we always make a mistake and don’t realize that to truly care for a person, be it in any form of relationship is to avoid this invasion and allow the growth of that person around you and share your own growth with them. Only then I truly feel there is substance to the word relationship.

Stealing Emotions
"I want to be rich. I want to drive a nice car. I don't want to suffer anymore. I need a partner, I need this and noone else deserves this more than I."

We render so much emotions for trivial things, we believe we deserve them and strive to get them. The modern living imposes such pursuits as necessary to stay ahead in life.

I believe that when we take what is not ours in the context of need, we steal in the name of emotions. The strongest force of mankind. The element that moves mountains, alter history, make or break the existence of mankind. Such is the energy behind this feeling. Most of us use it well, and nothing propels us more than a motive does.

Stealing emotions? We are all born for a purpose. Each is a different mould and make. Each has its own set of emotions. Our duty is to learn to handle these emotions, tame them to use them only when necessary, not for everything else. We are supposed to use it to the benefits of others, not for ourselves. The concept of emotions is to use it to fight hunger, world diseases, mental illness or child abuse. That perhaps may seem too big at this point.

But instead, we can change ourselves and those around us. We can start by not advocating unnecessary emotions in ourself and those around us. We can change by questioning our motive with others, trying to keep it unwavering with the will to benefit ourselves. We can try to live without using emotions to create motives, convincing ourselves and others that this is right and justified.

Allow me to illustrate through a man woman relationship.
Don't we tempt another to gain benefits for ourselves. Don't we display an attraction so strong to tempt the opposite sex and harness from them, all in the name of love. Don't we use love to satisfy our own motive? Don't we steal forbidden fruits to satisfy an emotion? Most of us justify for our emotions, using a ryme or reason. We defend them so that we can use then at our will. We abuse ourselves through our emotions and then blame others.
