Chase

We are all chasing for something in life. It can be money, happiness, personal contentment, love, education etc. The list can be quite endless. But do you notice we always chase something that we don't have, or cannot have? Then we do it with great valor, as if our sole purpose on this planet is that single purpose defined in chasing the object of our need.

I lagged behind in many things. But now I am on the "run". I am chasing my life. I feel I am left behind as compared to my counterparts, and over the past two years, I have done quite a bit. But my chase continues, I am clear of my goals and pursuits. The one thing I learnt from this is that to do it requires alot of patience and perseverance. I did not give up even on days things look bleak. I did not give up even when others made it difficult for me. I kept on the journey.
I think if all of us are clear with that, then the speed to "run" increases and we can reach that finishing line. But beware if your chase depends on another person, or if you allow another person to guide you in misguiding you, your effort would be futile.

What are you chasing?

You told that everybody is chasing what we dont have..agreed but many of us always wants things better things what we have already..ex.,in simple ways when one is having a Ordinary TV he may have thinking of buying LCD TV that makes him work better and get that..

Desire to achieve more is always there and it has to be and it should not reflect in the wrong ways..

Yes Thenraj, it should not reflect in wrong ways, unless based on your example...we spend more than we earn. Then the object of our desire becomes difficult.

I just took 5 years off of the grid to be a stay at home Pop and it probably added 5 years to my Life...plus I just turned 49 and my testosterone levels are setting and I don't need to compete with every other Y chrome that I see...whatever...I think that the secret to success is to have concrete goals that can be tossed overboard at a moment's notice and an extremely flexible gameplan.

Nice posting on a good topic. Yes everyone in his/her life chasing something. But it should be very clear that what you’re chasing. Something that can’t be achieved in life should be avoided and I think time should not be wasted for them. Suppose a student is very good in mathematics and he has the efficacy in maths related science, so engineering might be a good career for him. But after seeing his friend studying medical science if his guardian asks him to chase for a successful career of doctor, then it would be definitely bad for him. Yes I also agree that one should have the urge to do something. Still there is no alternate of the word ‘try’. I do agree with it. But at the same time I also believe that one should also be fully aware of his/her eligibility, strength and interest. It’s better to focus on your qualities; you need to decide first what you could achieve in life and what not. Otherwise chasing for anything could make your life more difficult.

I like what you said about being realistic of one's ability and strength before setting a goal to chase. Good point!
